Toddler Warm Meals — Prep Rotation

Prep time: 20 min
Cook time: 40 min
Servings: 8
A batch-friendly set of warm toddler dinners that reheat well at daycare — turkey/beef meatballs, red lentil veggie stew, and salmon or chicken rice bowls. Cook the components on prep day and recombine all week.

NOTES: Freeze in single portions for grab-and-go mornings. Reheat with a splash of milk or water to keep things moist. Pair iron-rich foods (beef, lentils, salmon) with a little fruit or tomato to boost absorption.

Ingredients

Mini meatballs (turkey or beef)

Red lentil veggie stew

Salmon or chicken rice bowls

Instructions

  1. Meatballs: Mix all meatball ingredients and roll into small (~1 tbsp) balls. Bake at 400°F for 15–18 min until cooked through. Cool, then freeze in portions.
  2. Stew: Simmer lentils, broth, carrot, sweet potato, oil, and cumin about 20 min until soft. Mash or blend partway for texture. Cool and portion.
  3. Bowls: Cook rice. Bake or pan-cook salmon or chicken until done, then flake into small pieces. Steam veg soft. Store components separately and combine at serving.
  4. Reheat any component with a splash of water or milk. Serve warm, not hot, and cut small.
