High Protein Animal Style Loaded Fries

In-N-Out animal style fries made high protein — crispy seasoned fries topped with lean seasoned beef, caramelized balsamic onions, melted cheese, and a tangy copycat animal sauce.
NOTES: Cheese macros vary widely by brand — verify your low fat slices against the label and adjust. Mayo macros assume true light mayo (~35 cal/30g); full-fat will add ~6g fat to the dish.
Ingredients
For the fries
- 500g raw potato (cut into thin fry shapes)
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt (season after cooking while hot)
- Cooking spray
For the beef
- 300g 93/7 ground beef
- Cooking spray
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- Salt to taste
For the onions
- 2 diced shallots (or 1 small brown onion)
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tsp balsamic
- 1 tbsp brown stevia
Animal style sauce
- 45g low sugar ketchup
- 120g 0% Greek yogurt
- 30g light mayo
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1 tbsp pickle relish
- 1/2 tsp Worcestershire
Other
- 4 slices low fat cheese (or sub 75g low fat cheddar for more protein)
Instructions
- Cut potatoes into thin fry shapes, toss with paprika and cooking spray. Air fry at 200°C/400°F until crispy, ~20–25 min, shaking halfway. Season with salt while hot.
- Mix baking soda into the ground beef before cooking to keep it from drying out. Cook beef in a sprayed pan over medium-high heat, breaking it up, then season with smoked paprika, garlic powder, and salt.
- For the onions, sauté diced shallots with a pinch of salt until soft, add balsamic and brown stevia, and cook down until caramelized.
- Whisk together all animal style sauce ingredients until smooth.
- Plate the fries, top with beef, lay cheese slices over the hot beef to melt, add caramelized onions, and drizzle with animal style sauce. Serve fresh.
